When can I start enroll and how long will be the studying period?
Each term starts in April, July, October and January.
With the student visa, generally you will be studying with us for 2 years.
For the short term students, you will be studying with us for 3 months.
You can join our course anytime when it's good for you.(depends on your
Japanese level)
Is there age limit for enrollment?
We don't have any age limit, in principle.
But, we might not be able to accept the application depends on how many years have past since you graduated from your last school or how many years you have been working for...etc.
Should all the application forms(such as "Personal history", "Declaration of Reason", and "letters of Paying Expenses")be written by hand?
It is better to type by computer, so that it is easy to check all the spelling and others. Hand-writting is also fine. If you write by hand, please write neatly. Also please don't forget your own signature on the application forms.
When I arrived in Japan, will the school come and pick me up?
We will make arrangement for picking up for those, who are going to stay in the dormitory, and arriving at Kansai International Airport (except for those arriving on Saturday, Sunday, National holiday, and late at night) You will pay your own transportation expenses from airport to dormitory / school.
Do you have any classes for preparing the JLPT exams and EJU exams?
We have special class for the JLPT exams. In the class, you will be studying for the level of N-3 or higher.
For EJU exams, you will be studying Japan and the World, math, and science.
There are also epecial class for the TOEFL.
When I apply for the Student Visa, how much does my sponsor need to have in his/her bank account?
It depends on your nationality, but normally he/she needs to have the bank balance of more than JPY 2,000,000. Those are for the school tuition and living costs.
Can I be the sponsor for myself, and paying all the tuition and living costs?
You could be only if you have been working for more than 3 years in one place, and you have more than JPY 2,000,000 of bank balance in your bank account. Then you might be needing the last 3 years record of money reception and payment.
What if I have problem other than classes?
Please feel free to ask to the staff at the school office. There are staffs who can speak English and Chinese.
After you entered the school, you will be taking the otientation and we will explain all the manners and rules in Japan. If you are in an urgent situation, please let the staff know, and they will take care of things, so don't worry. (especially traffic accidents, frauds...etc.)
I will be coming with the student visa, can I soon get any part time job?
When you enter Japan and apply at the airport for the permission to engage in activity other than that permitted under the status of residence granted, the permission will be written on the residence card of yours. When there are classes, you could work within 28 hours / week. When you are on long holidays like summer holiday, then you could work within 40 hours / week.
For avoiding the trobles with work places, we advice you to start working after 3 months you entered to Japan.
Will the school help me to find the work place as a part-time worker?
We will make contact with the companies, and help you to find the places where you can work as a part-time worker.
Generally, we introduce work places to students who are studying hard and good attitude towards life so that they can keep good manners and rules at the work place as well. For those who can keep those mentioned things, we can introduce the work places eventhough you think your Japanese is not that well enough.
How can I make my own bank account in Japan?
You need to bring your passport, residence card, and signature stamp (you can order from school). If you are here with the tourist visa, you cannot make your own bank account.
How can I get mobile phone in Japan?
You need to bring these following things to the shop; student ID, national insurance card, information of the bank account such as bank-book and cash card, residence card, passport.
How much do I need for the living costs for one month?
For one month of your living costs will be around JPY 60,000. (except school tuition) National average is around JPY 80,000.
For the first few months, you should prepare at least JPY 200,000.

Are there any short term course?
There are short term courses, one term is 3 months.
These courses are for those who already have permanent residence visa, spouse visa, working holiday visa, or tourist visa.

For the short term course, there are also Study and Tour Course. For more detail, please contact our office.
If I apply for the short term course, will I be studying in the same classes with other students who are studying for long term course?
It doesn't matter weather you have a student visa or tourist visa, everyone will study in the same class ( but different levels).

Is there any places to stay where school can offer?
You can stay at homestay or dormitory. For homestay, you need to fill out the application form for the homestay. After we got that information, we will start look for suitable family for you.
About the Art Course

Questions about scholarship
Could you tell me what kind of scholarship I could get?
- Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students (For enrolled students and graduated students who entered to Universities in Japan)
- Kyoto International Academy Michizane Scholarship A and B (Only for enrolled students)
- Scholarships which private foundations allow students
- Requirements: Attendance should be more than 98%, students who have good scores and outstanding students who are sure to enter to higher education.
Questions about accommodations
How many students can live in dormitories which school take care of?
There are 5 dormitories.
About 140 students can live in those dormitories. For those who want to live in dormitory, you need to live at least 6 months.
What facilities do dormitories have?
Bed (futon, Japanese style is the normal style in most dormitories), desk, chair, kitchen, bathroom, internet access, refrigertor, microwave, and there are rooms where you have your own shower room. If you need TV, please talk to the office.
